Austin Veterinary Care Advises Forest Hills Pet Owners on Seasonal Health Tips for September
The full-service animal hospital offers guidance on common fall health concerns for pets in the Forest Hills area.
FOREST HILLS, N.Y. — September 9, 2026 — As September brings cooler weather and seasonal changes, Austin Veterinary Care reminds pet owners in Forest Hills to watch for signs of allergies, weight gain from reduced outdoor activity, and the need for updated vaccinations. The clinic offers same-day urgent care during business hours for pets showing symptoms such as persistent scratching, coughing, or lethargy.
Pet owners seeking a vet in Forest Hills can rely on Austin Veterinary Care for routine medical, surgical, and dental care, as well as wellness exams and vaccinations. The clinic’s in-house laboratory and diagnostic tools provide fast results, helping to identify issues like seasonal allergies or infections promptly.
Common September concerns include exposure to ragweed and mold, which can trigger allergic reactions in dogs and cats. Reduced daylight may also lead to less exercise, increasing the risk of obesity. Austin Veterinary Care recommends maintaining a consistent routine and scheduling a wellness exam to ensure pets stay healthy as the season transitions.
The clinic sees small animals, cats, and dogs, and accepts major credit cards, cash, and CareCredit. New clients can receive a free first exam, with terms applying. Austin Veterinary Care is closed on weekends, so pet owners are encouraged to call during weekday hours for urgent care needs.
